OUR PURPOSES AND PRINCIPLES

We, the member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association, covenant to affirm and promote:

The inherent worth and dignity of every person;

Justice, equity and compassion in human relations;

Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations;

A free and responsible search for truth and meaning;

The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large;

The goal of world community with peace, liberty and justice for all;

Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.

BECOMING A MEMBER

Membership in the congregation is open to anyone who is in sympathy with the above purposes and principles and subscribes to our by-laws. Signing the official membership book signifies this, and is required to become a member. We encourage those interested in membership to attend information meetings organized for that purpose and to reflect seriously for a time before making their decision. Full membership is for those who are 19 years of age and over when they sign. There is also a Youth member category.
