WE NEED YOU TO SPRUCE UP! ----THE PROPERTY THAT IS.

There will be weeds to pull, fences to prop up, gardening to attend to, furniture to move, closets to clean, stuff to finally "put away where it belongs ", a few bits of fix up and much more. BRING YOURSELF and, if you wish, a slave to do your bidding. If you've had your eye on a task that needs doing, make it yours this Sunday! Bring along any hand tools, shovels, cleaning stuff etc that might be useful. There will be tea, coffee and juice on hand and and any other treats that anyone brings to share. Doug D.

Sept 12: Coordinator & Leader: Connie

Ingathering Sunday.

We begin the church year with our annual In-Gathering Service. As we come together after our summer break, to again share with our church community, please bring along some token that you picked up over the summer, a sample of water, a stone, a seashell, maybe a pine cone; something that reminds you of a special time or place where your heart was touched, your spirit lifted or your soul fed. As we gather our items together we will share our stories of a special time

Sept 19: Coordinator : Doug Minister: The Rev. Maury Landry

Surviving the Paradigm Shift

Within the Religious/Spiritual Universe

ON SURVIVING THE PARADIGM SHIFT-

It was suggested last spring that it might be interesting if I were to address the interface of science and religion in a service, with reference to the work of Paul Davies. Dr. Davies has the distinction of being an equal opportunity offender, pleasing neither monotheistic adherents, nor the scientific practitioners. That qualifies him as a potential UU icon.

The Sunday, September 19th message will articulate a vision of what the UU movement may have to offer the marketplace of ideas, if it is to survive the paradigm shift underway within the religious/spiritual universe. This vision will invite both the scientific and UU communities to hold hands as they look into the well of life-giving water, only to see their own reflections at the bottom.
